The Jedi Academy Online has created it's own Symbol. The symbol is used in three different ways, the first is a plain symbol, no writing. The second states the JAO, with the Five Fives on it. And the last is the Jedi Academy version. These symbols are now under copyright protection and being offered on various products for sale. JAO Symbols: Plain, JAO, Academy. JAO Stores: JAO @ Cafe Press and JAO @ Artnow. Check them out.

The new Message Board is fully up and running. Here is a welcome to all the new members and students. We have also added a couple texts on the Force. We have decided to make these more public because of the doubts many people have about the Force and the validity of the Jedi Path itself. We understand not everyone will like using fiction as a source of inspiration for personal growth, but we can prove we are more than just crazed Star Wars geeks. So feel free to check out the Library with updated links on the Force or click the link provide: Examining the Force.

The new JAO Forums are up and running, and the links now direct to the new forums. The JAO Library will remain as is and no further texts will be added to it. Instead the Library forum on the Message Boards will be the new home for archiving texts.

The Jedi Academy Online has once again undergone a few more changes and additions. This is mostly a graphics and layout overhaul. The idea is to make the site easier to navigate and read, while still providing a great visual design. I hope you enjoy the changes made.

As well as Visual changes I want to point out a couple of other changes as well. The JAO Regulations have been revised and updated. The Jedi Knight Trials have been completely written out and with the recent revisions they are ready for use. The JAO Library on the forum has been updated. And the JAO Library on the site is currently getting a fresh coat of paint, with some new content.

  Welcome to the JAO:
Welcome to the Jedi Academy Online, we hope you enjoy your time at our website. Our Focus here is the study and development of the Jedi Philosophy. While we each may enjoy the various entertainment venues of the Star Wars Saga (movies, games, books, etc.) we are not an Entertainment Group or Fan Site. This site is created for the purpose of examining and expanding the Jedi Path. By studying and adhering to the Jedi Philosophy we seek to become Jedi in today's society. This is a path of self-betterment, with practices such as Meditation and Physical Fitness. A Jedi seeks to shapren their mind, calm their spirit, and hone their skills so that they can help others when call upon.

There are a lot of misconceptions out there in relation to the Jedi Path. I would like to take this time to remove a couple of negative stereotypes associated with the Jedi name. First and foremost, we are not a Religion. We do not believe Yoda is real and we certainly do not say our prayers to George Lucas. In fact we have no prayers. We do believe in the Force, no that does mean we believe little midi-chlorians infest us all. Through the study of science and other beliefs and practices on energy we have been able to put a finger on the tip of the iceburg. We do not have all the answers on the Force, but we are growing and learning everyday. We cannot move cars with a wave of our hand, and we certainly do not have Force Lightning.

I am sure the Jedi are sounding rather boring to most about now. We have no real lightsabers, no Jedi Dress-Code, and no Jedi Temple. Instead we focus on Physical Well-Being (diet, exercise, and practical self-defense), Mental Well-Being (stress-relief, conflict resolution, and learning new subjects such as different philosophies that exist), and Spiritual Well-Being (meditation, self-awareness and self-honesty, learning about the Force). The Jedi work towars self-betterment, not battling Sith. If this sounds like something you might be interested please read through our FAQ and Regulations for more information, or visit our message board. Thank you.

Define Jedi:
The Jedi Path can seem confusing, bring a lot of questions to mind. One of the first of course is; Are you delusional fanatics? Quickly I will say we are not crazy and we are not fanatics. You can get more in-depth answers to your questions by reading the FAQ Section on our site. To further help clear up any concerns someone may have about the Jedi Path it is best to define the Jedi Path.

The Definition of the Jedi Path:
Definition 1: The Philosophical ideology presented in Star Wars Entertainment in direct relation to the Jedi Order and its members.
Example: The Jedi Code outlines basic guiding principles of the Jedi Path.
Definition 2: A philosophical way of life inspired by the fictional Jedi in Star Wars and expounded by the Jedi Circle.
Example: Morken Saan likes the ideals of the Jedi Path, but he is does not consider himself a Jedi.
The Jedi Path is not hard to explain, but it can be hard to find the proper words to define it. Every Jedi walks the Jedi Path, thus they are examples of it. But this itself does not explain it to others and requires a something more. The Jedi Path is the overall Philosophical ideals that we Jedi follow, train, and practice daily. You can view these practices, tenets, and traits by reading the Jedi Circle.

I hope this has helped in explaining a little bit about what this site is about and why we have chosen to follow the Jedi Path. If you would like to read more about our definitions of the Jedi and get an overall idea of exactly how this site is run, Ranks, Training, et cetra. Than please visit our Regulations Section of the website.
